Piezo Surgery

Piezo Dental Surgery uses ultrasound waves to cut bone without damaging soft tissue, greatly reduces healing times.

Conventional dental surgery use drills and burs to either cut, split or bore through bone. No matter how accurate the surgeon is there is always tissue and bone loss. Piezo dental surgery uses ultrasound waves to cut bone without damaging soft tissue thus limiting unnecessary tissue and bone loss. Some procedures that benefit from the application of the Piezo technique are:

•  Tooth extractions
•  Periodontal surgeries
•  Implant surgeries
•  Sinus surgeries
•  Endodontic surgeries

Accurate

The technique enables the cutting of hard tissues only. The surrounding tissues including arteries, sinus membranes and nerves are almost untouched resulting in very little damage to these tissues.

Safe

Results are minimum trauma relative to the conventional drills and burs. The surgery results in minimal bleeding. There is also minimal swelling and patients experience little post-operative discomfort or pain.

Versatile

The instrument has different programs and inserts based on the surgical procedures being performed.  For example, by selecting certain inserts, a surgeon is able to make even difficult extractions simple while resulting in no fractures of the bone.
