Patient Safety

With the concern over COVID-19, we understand that you may have questions about what we do as a dental practice to keep our patients and team safe.

My team and I have always taken great pride in the cleanliness of our office and our disinfection/sterilization techniques.

Disinfection

Treatment room counters, handles and chairs are disinfected between every patient with approved bactericidal/virucidal sprays. Disposable covers are used over areas that may be touched.

Counter tops and door handles in public areas are cleaned regularly.

Sterilization

All instruments are sterilized in autoclaves. Our instruments are contained in the Hu-Friedy Cassette System for safety. Disposable instruments are used if they cannot be autoclaved.

Air Quality

We have installed two Air Scrubbers in our office. Air Scrubbers have been proven to be effective in reducing bacteria, viruses and other pathogens on surfaces and in the air. It’s even effective against DNA and RNA viruses like the Swine Flu (H1N1), Avian Bird Flu (H5N8), Hepatitis A (HAV), and MS2 bacteriophage.

Air Scrubber Plus® with ActivePure™ technology is the latest advancement of a scientific breakthrough originally developed in cooperation with NASA for use in the International Space Station. ActivePure™ technology is recognized as the exclusive Certified Space Technology by the Space Foundation in its category.

Aerosol Reduction

Our hygienists use the Purevac Highs Speed Evacuation (HVE) system. In a research study, Purevac HVE removed 90% more harmful aerosols during ultrasonic scaling compared to low-volume saliva ejectors. The PureVac HVE system reduces fluid 135% more than a
low-volume saliva ejector.

All rooms will be equipped with Komax Extra Oral Suction system. This system removes high volumes of droplets & aerosols produced during treatment.
